A photographic artist and his family wanted to make better use of various outbuildings around this grade II listed farmhouse. They also wanted to have a living space that had a more generous relationship with the garden, the existing house being rather closed in by the existing small windows.
A single storey service block that lay close to the main house has been converted into a new sitting room with generous sliding doors onto the garden. This, together with a minimal glass connecting corridor, has transformed the house’s relationship to the garden.
Elsewhere a disused cow byre has been converted in to a new studio/office space with large full height windows facing the main courtyard.
